With an abundance of sunshine, water and mild climates almost anything can be grown in the South Pacific.
Surprisingly there is also a relatively large amount of land to grow crops on and, just like areas in the more famous Amazon, there are abundant natural resources that we have only scratched the surface with.
Wellness Pacific plans to identify these gifts of nature with the communities and explore ways in which they can be grown, harvested and developed for the good of the South Pacific communities.
BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE...
A friend of Eve's just came home from one of these islands and told us of an unfortunate visit they had to a restaurant that was unable to order any of the salads on their menu as they did not have access to fresh vegetables! Imagine that here in New Zealand. It wouldn't happen, it wouldn't be acceptable...so why is it acceptable there? It's not acceptable, they have every right to have fresh food as any other person living on this planet. Unfortunately that is an every day occurrence for many people within the island communities.
This is why it is important for us at WP to follow through with our plan to go out and help these people, make them feel empowered in their own right, to grow their own vegetables for themselves and for their community who depend on it to make them a living and to live a healthy nutritious lifestyle.
